LONG BEACH, CA, UNITED STATES, January 24, 2023 /EINPresswire.com/ — Organized by Long Beach Food & Beverage, a registered California 501(c)3 non-profit, the 2nd annual Long Beach Black Restaurant Week is an eight-day event devoted to celebrating African, African American, and Caribbean fare in and around Long Beach. The event also seeks to highlight Black-owned culinary businesses as well as Black chefs and bartenders.

Inspired by Long Beach Black Restaurant Week, Long Beach new comer Yevette Wright has used this occasion to officially quit her day job and launch her own catering company, “Skinny Cookies Catering” right here in Long Beach, CA.

Since she was a young child Yevette Wright has loved cooking for friends and family. She is a long-time catering chef, culinary expert and pastry lover. Providing food is Ms. Wright’s way of showing love. Now in her 40s, the longtime local chef said she’s finally ready to live her dream.

“Owning my own catering company and cooking for people has always been a passion of mine. I love making people happy. It brings joy to my heart to see their smiles, to hear their “oohs and aahs” when they bite into their favorite treats, and when people hire me to cater their events and special occasions” says Yevette Wright, Founder of Skinny Cookies Catering. “I had never heard of “Black Restaurant Week” until I moved to Long Beach. Next year, I must be a part of this amazing opportunity.”

Skinny Cookies Catering has catered events along with the Southern California Black Chamber of Commerce, Long Beach Unified Bar & Lounge, New Life Ministries Funerals & Weddings, Southwest College, BOTI Studios in Anaheim and many more.

To bring her dream to life Ms. Wright has launched a $50,000.00 Seed Funding Crowdfunding Campaign for her catering company. A donation of any amount will allow her to pay for:
