Amid COVID-19 Fears Councilwoman Suely Saro Cancels Long Beach MLK Parade 2022

The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. parade scheduled for Saturday, January 15th in Long Beach’s 6th District is cancelled.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was an American Baptist minister and activist who became the most visible spokesman and leader in the American Civil Rights Movement from 1955 until his assassination in 1968.

Though Long Beach City residents expected to go out and honor a great leader, they were unfortunately unable to due to growing COVID-19 concerns in the city.

Are these concerns valid? One scientist says, “No!”
