Southern California Black Chamber of Commerce to Receive Certificate of Recognition from Mayor Rex Richardson’s Office at Elevate 2025 Business Summit

The Southern California Black Chamber of Commerce (SCBCC) is proud to announce that it will receive a Certificate of Recognition from the office of Mayor Rex Richardson at the highly anticipated Elevate 2025 Business Summit.

This prestigious award will be presented on January 20, 2025, at the Sports Basement in Long Beach. The recognition honors the Chamber’s invaluable contributions to the local business community, empowering Black entrepreneurs, and promoting economic justice.

Elevate 2025 is an exciting, high-energy event that brings together entrepreneurs, business owners, investors, and community leaders. It celebrates Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of unity, economic justice, and equal opportunity for all.

“We are especially honored to receive this recognition from Long Beach’s first Black Mayor, Rex Richardson’s office. Long Beach has a complex history, but we’ve made significant progress,” said Sharifah Hardie, President of the SCBCC Long Beach Area Chapter.

“Mayor Richardson’s leadership has been pivotal in advancing these efforts, bringing people together, and creating opportunities for everyone. This recognition from his office reflects our collective work to build a thriving, equitable Long Beach.”

Mayor Richardson, Long Beach’s first African American mayor, has worked tirelessly to empower the community. His leadership continues to shape the city through his “Opportunity Beach” Agenda, which focuses on public safety, economic recovery, and neighborhood development. This recognition highlights his commitment to fostering economic opportunity for all, especially Black-owned businesses.

“Mayor Richardson’s efforts are integral to creating lasting change,” Hardie continued. “His vision for a prosperous and inclusive Long Beach aligns with our mission to drive economic empowerment for Black entrepreneurs.”
